Privacy policy

My FIRE Investing (myfireinvesting.com) is a personal website run by Sujith in Australia. This policy explains what information the site collects, why, and the choices you have. Last updated 23 October 2026.

What I collect

When you subscribe to the weekly email

Your email address, the date you signed up and basic delivery records (for example whether an email was delivered). Addresses are stored encrypted. I use them only to send the weekly email and the occasional site update, and every email has an unsubscribe link that removes you straight away.

When you use the contact form

Your name, email address and message. They are sent to my inbox so I can reply, and I don’t add you to the mailing list unless you subscribe yourself.

When you browse

Like most websites, the site and its providers receive standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit and the site that referred you. The calculators and tools run in your browser; the numbers you type into them are not saved on the site.

Cookies and similar technology

The site itself stores only small preferences in your browser, such as light or dark mode. Third parties described below may also set cookies.

Analytics

I use Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful, using cookies to count visits and see roughly where readers come from. The reports I see are aggregated and don’t identify you. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Advertising

The site may show ads served by Google AdSense and its partners.

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website or other websites.
• Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this and other sites on the internet.
• You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies at aboutads.info.

Photos

Article photos are loaded from Unsplash, which receives the standard technical information your browser sends when it loads an image.

Who else handles your information

I use a small number of providers to run the site, and they handle information only to provide their service:

• Cloudflare hosts the site and its database.
• Resend delivers the weekly email and contact form messages.
• Google provides analytics and advertising, as described above.

Some of these providers store data outside Australia. I never sell or rent your personal information.

Affiliate links

Some articles may include affiliate links. If you sign up through one I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The provider may use cookies to record that you came from this site.

Your choices

• Unsubscribe from emails at any time with the link in every email.
• Ask what information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it, through the contact page.
• Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them.

I handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. If you’re not happy with how I’ve handled a request, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Children

The site is written for adults and isn’t directed at children under 16. I don’t knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this policy changes, I’ll update it here and change the date at the top.
